Philippines media and street scenes

Pacific Media Centre, August 2008

Philippines media is one of the liveliest in the world with many national dailies competing and street hawking challenging. The Philippine Daily Inquirer - the country's most innovative daily - and the ex-colonial Bulletin, paper of the establishment, contest media leadership. Many Filipinos are homeless too with scores of people sleeping in the square adjacent to the Ermita shrine, in the forks of trees and in street cots. Washing space is at a premium.
