Reporting Wars: Challenges and Responsibilities

Representatives from major media outlets and international aid organisations gathered for a conference on reporting war at Massey University’s Wellington campus on 22 May.

Speakers included Reuters global editor for multimedia Chris Cramer and the International Committee of the Red Cross head of media services Florian Westphal, who were joined by New Zealand media representatives from TVNZ, Radio NZ, Fairfax Media and others on panel discussions.

Topics ranged from international humanitarian law to the relationship between humanitarian aid workers and journalists.

The conference was hosted by the International Committee of the Red Cross together with New Zealand Red Cross and Massey University’s School of Journalism.
